Efforts towards sustainability in our business and our products are near and dear to us! This is why we obtain wood from FSC-certified wood suppliers or from the local, Franconian (area of Bavaria) forests of our parents.
What does “FSC-certified wood suppliers“ mean?
FSC is short for “Forest Stewardship Council“ - an organization that aims to achieve environmentally friendly, social and ecological standards in forestry.
The organization was founded in 1993 as a result of the Earth Summit in Rio and is now represented in over 80 countries.
The FSC-certificate defines standards for responsible forestry according to the following criteria:
- responsible management of global forest resources
- forestry according to social, ecological and economic needs
